Lessons are student-oriented with emphasis on a communicative approach. In addition to improvements in the field of grammar, lexicology and composition, participants in preparatory courses will acquire methods and strategies that will enable them to reach the best possible exam results while also familiarising themselves with the exam evaluation scheme.
Each participant of the course is obliged to purchase the required study materials. Lesson plans include the newest editions of textbooks specially focused on Cambridge English exams. In addition to the required textbooks, lecturers include the use of supplementary materials, e.g., didactic games focusing on grammar and vocabulary practice, authentic materials, preparatory tests, etc.
Prior to their admission to the course, participants are required to take a placement test designed to determine their level. On the basis of this placement test, participants will receive a recommendation for assignment to the preparatory course that is applicable to their Cambridge Exam. Holders of a Cambridge English Certificate no more than 2 years old are not required to participate in placement tests.
Following placement testing, participants will receive an email with information on the results, along with recommendation on the preparatory course level. Participants are then obliged to submit a binding application and subsequently pay the fee for the preparatory course.
Paper based Cambridge English Exams are held twice per year: in March and June. The registration deadline is approximately 2 months before the exam date.
Computer based Cambridge English Exams can be held every month if there is a minimum of 4 candidates. The registration deadline is approximately 2 weeks before the exam date and the certificates are released approximately 2 weeks after the exam date.
Prior to the examination all students are required to take the pre-test, which will serve as a guide as to whether students will receive recommendation to register for the examination or not. In addition, the pre-test is helpful in identifying the primary areas that students need to focus on during their preparation.
All candidates who have registered for the exam and paid the registration fee will be given an opportunity to try out a ‘mock’ test in both written and oral form.
