ERASMUS Student Exchange

The ERASMUS programme is an integral part of the European Lifelong Learning Programme, and its objective is to facilitate cooperation between individual universities; moreover, it provides a platform for further cooperation between universities and various other organisations and companies.

The ERASMUS programme offers MUP students the following three types of activities:

Study Stays - Study stays allow MUP students to participate in academic activities at MUP partner universities abroad for the duration of one or two semesters;

Internships – Internships offer MUP students an opportunity to work for an international company, educational or research centre or any other qualified organisation for the duration of 3 to 13 months;

ERASMUS Intensive Language Courses (EILC) – Erasmus Intensive Language Courses (EILC) provide MUP students with a unique opportunity to study a less widely spoken language prior to the commencement of the study stay for a duration of a maximum of 6 weeks.

During the course of their study, MUP students may participate once in the offered study stays and once in internships.

The following countries are participating in the Lifelong Learning Programme:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.

Member States of the European Free Trade Association, Member States of the European Economic Area:
Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway

Candidate countries:
Turkey

What requirements must MUP students meet to participate in the activities offered by the ERASMUS programme?

  • Students interested in participation in the activities offered by the ERASMUS programme must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, or Doctoral Degree study programme at a university that is participating in the ERASMUS programme.
  • Students interested in study stays must be enrolled at least in their second year of study, i.e. the second or third year of study of a Bachelor’s Degree study programme; or the first or second year of study of a Master’s Degree study programme; or a Doctoral Degree study programme.
  • Within the ERASMUS programme, students enrolled in their first year of the Bachelor’s Degree study programme may participate in internships only.
  • In order to qualify, students may be enrolled in both full-time and part-time form of study.

Selection Procedure for the 2011/2012 Academic Year

  • The selection procedure for the 2011/2012 academic year shall be held during February 2011. Further information on the selection procedure shall be published in due time on MUP Extranet.
