We cooperate with researchers from academia, but also with experts with everyday working experience in the field of energy, and with PhD students.  

Ing. Miriam Brelliková

International economic relations, macroeconomic stability, competitiveness of European economies, export performance modelling, and econometric analysis

PhD student at the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics in Prague, where her dissertation focuses on the issue of competitiveness and its relationship to the performance of economies in international trade. She gained experience abroad during her studies at Universitat de Barcelona and Università degli Studi di Palermo. She developed her professional practice in the private sector, at the Prague University of Economics and Business and at the Czech National Bank, where she worked on financial stability analyses. Her expertise includes international economic relations, macroeconomic stability, competitiveness of European economies, export performance modelling, and econometric analysis. She is currently heading an internal grant project while participating in other research activities across these areas. She utilizes her academic and research experience in her teaching activities at the Faculty of International Relations.

Ing. Zbyněk Dubský, Ph.D. 

Power politics, international security and the integration process, specifically energy security and the development of a common security and defence policy, and EU resilience

Graduate and lecturer of the Prague University of Economics and Business, Faculty of International Relations, majoring in International Political Relations (PhD). His expertise is in power politics international security and the integration process, specifically energy security and the development of a common security and defence policy, and EU resilience. These topics are the dominant focus of his publications. He has authored several monographs and published in impact-factor journals (e.g., Politics and Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, Energy Policy, Energy, Energy Strategy Reviews).

Mgr. Jan Mazač  

Structural transformation of the EU energy market, with particular emphasis on the gas sector

Graduate of a Master’s programme in International Relations at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. He specializes in the structural transformation of the European Union energy market, with a particular emphasis on the gas sector. He has been actively involved in a number of national and international research projects that have addressed key issues such as the decarbonization of the Czech energy sector, Czech–Norwegian perspectives on new security threats in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine, and the socio-political impact of the war in Ukraine on civil society in the Visegrad Group countries. He currently works for a company in the gas industry.

Mgr. Nikita Odintsov

International oil market, Russia’s energy policy, EU–Russia energy relations

Geopolitical and energy security expert with more than eight years of experience in political risk analysis, energy policy and international oil and gas markets. He has a long-standing interest in EU energy security, EU–Russia relations, and geopolitics. He has experience in preparing analyses for the public and private sector and is the author of a number of professional publications and the monograph Geopolitika ropy (The Geopolitics of Oil).
