- Head of DepartmentMgr. Romana Vančáková received a Master’s degree in English Language from the Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague. Upon completing her studies, she has continued to improve her professional skills in various language schools in Prague and has become an accredited examiner of the internationally recognized Cambridge ESOL examinations. Romana Vančáková also provides training in IELTS at MUP. In addition to teaching English and heading the Department of Foreign Languages, she takes part in research activities, presenting papers at linguistic conferences and taking part in international projects focused on the teaching of foreign languages.

The Department of Foreign Languages was established in 2008 in order to provide high-quality foreign language instruction to students of non-philological specialisations taught at Metropolitan University Prague. Moreover, by participating in European educational programmes, the department is committed to multicultural cooperation and works together with various prestigious institutions from abroad. The department also focuses on research in the field of linguistics, and provides lessons of English, French, German, Spanish, and Czech as a second language.
